As the days go by...Kors is on my mind.

In my so busy life, I am amazingly finding the time to browse the abundance of fashion sites when the chance arrives. The most interesting fashion news, as according to the web, is the attention Maria Sharipova is receiving reguarding Wimbledon. Is she really is going classic sheik this year? I know that this might not be what you think of fashion, I personally would not see this as a huge turning point for the tennis wear industry, but none-the-less; she will always be an icon. The word on the .com is that she is is downplaying her look this year, as opposed to the diamond encrusted getup she had last year. As this is not a blog about what the hot celebrities are wearing, I just wanted to throw that out there, and by the way who needs diamonds to play tennis?
Moving on to a more serious subject I would like to hit the main fashion areas of the world with my thoughts of newest styles. The first victim is New York. This classic city is known for making the girls scream with glee walking down the "ave". The most recent runway video I watched was Micheal Kors releasing his summer line. I know this is a little late in the season to be discussing the summer runway show, but I have been a busy girl. ( Don't worry I will talk about the fall 2008 line next.) This summer line was beautiful from Kors, He was giving woman an 80's meets Miami beach throw back. The bright flowey dresses reminded me somewhat of the woman from project runway who was all about the Miami look. Michael, you know better then to steal from your own pupils! I especially liked some of the itty bitty bright bikini's that remind of me of the 60's and 70's. Florescent pinks and oranges, swirling like rainbow sherbet, but in a floral pattern; Very elegant.Oh the classics will never die.
The fall collection of "Ready to Wear" by Kors is typical for him. He is mixing light browns with pastels to give it a feminine flair to drab fall weather.(which might not even happen this year if the weather doesn't get on some bipolar medication.) In any case, I have always been a fan of Kors, and this season does not disappoint yet again. Sailor style jackets are always a favorite of mine, and Kors does a cute skirt suit with the jacket to jazz it up. A few of the dresses in this collection make me think of 1942, an elegant woman with the curled hair, holding an extra long cigarette in her hand waiting outside of the swing club. Very Sheik. As to not bore you by too many details, take my word for it, Kors is going to be a hit this fall. Check back for my next runway show review. Peace Love and Fashion.
